Diversity, Equity and Inclusion
We strive for Diversity, Equity and Inclusion (DEI) to reflect everything we stand for as an organisation, and acknowledge that there is still a long path ahead of us. We have made progress in integrating principles of Diversity, Equity and Inclusion into our work and developing our recruitment process to reflect them.
We recognise the privilege and power we hold as a charitable funder, and have developed both DEI (Diversity, Equity, and Inclusion) definitions and a working group to ensure we use our power and resources in allyship with those we work to support.
These definitions are a model for us to ensure that DEI acts as a golden thread through all of our internal policies, processes and guidelines, and underpin both how we treat and communicate with each other. In order to fulfil our commitments to these definitions, we will reflect and develop our approach continually, so staff, trustees and volunteers feel confident embedding them in their work.
While there is lots more to do, we’re proud of our progress and committed to supporting our staff as we improve practice and embed DEI principles across the organisation. We are achieving this by implementing an organisation-wide DEI action plan.
